The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Quin Dynasty. For almost 500 years it served as the home for many emperors. Built in 1406 to 1420 the city covers around 180 acres.
Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area is noted for more than 3,000 quartzite sandstone pillars and peaks across most of the site many over 200 meters. The site also includes many ravines, gorges with attractive pools, streams, and waterfalls.
The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications made of stone, brick, tamped earth and other materials. Built between 220 and 206 BC by Qin Shi Huang to protect China from outsiders the wall still stands today.
The Terracotta Army is a collection of over 8,000 clay soldiers, 130 clay chariots, and 150 cavalry horses. The army was built by Qin Shi to protect him in the afterlife. They were discovered under a farm in 1974. Other terracotta non-military figures were found also.
